The "2nd Witness Statement of Mr. CHENG Ka Chun" is an official document submitted to the Independent Committee investigating the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. Superintendent CHENG Ka Chun clarifies discrepancies in body recovery data, confirming that 61 fatalities were handled by the Disaster Victim Identification Unit (DVIU), with one additional fatality managed by a forensic pathologist and 106 by the Fire Services Department, totaling 168 fatalities. The statement addresses specific inquiries from the Committee regarding body part identifications, duplication of samples, and statistical adjustments.
